How Testonome scores your practice

Your score is the number of correct answers out of all questions in the set. Wrong and unanswered questions earn zero, and every question has the same weight. The numerical diagnostic can also show a practice target chosen by Testonome, calculated on your device. Community comparisons are not available.

Reviewed

Your score

Each correct answer earns one point. Wrong and unanswered questions earn zero. Every question has the same weight. Difficulty and time taken do not change your score.

The total includes all questions in the set, even if you finish early or run out of time. Your browser calculates the result. The review shows the correct answer and a worked explanation for each question.

The practice target

The numerical diagnostic uses a Testonome practice target of 70% correct. This is a training goal we chose, not a community average, percentile, employer pass mark or measure of readiness.

On a set of twelve questions, nine correct answers meet the target; eight do not. The calculation uses your correct-answer count, before rounding the displayed percentage.

The target is calculated on your device without sending your result. Focused drills show your score without a practice target.

Question selection and retakes

The numerical diagnostic includes one question per skill. A focused drill draws questions from the skill you selected.

Testonome uses this browser's question history to choose unseen questions first. Once those are exhausted for a required skill, earlier questions can reappear. The review flags a set that includes previously seen questions.

How we produce and check the questions

There is no team of assessment psychologists here. There is a company, an automated pipeline, and a person who reads what the pipeline produces. Nothing is rewritten to make it pass. That is what "machine-written, machine-checked, human-directed" means, and the paragraphs below describe each step.

We use generative AI to draft practice materials. Numerical questions are generated from templates written for Testonome. Each template defines the calculation and the values a question can use.

Automated tests check the calculated answers using separate verification calculations. They also check for duplicate answer options. A wording check looks for overlap between questions within our own generated sets.

A person reviews the templates and worked examples before publication. Material that fails review is discarded. We keep records of the checks and reviews with the question bank.

Difficulty levels are assigned in the templates. The site's written guides also pass automated checks and human review before publication.
